PAST = I was once able to kill people sniping with a Kaalakaitikciaiticoa or wtf-ever the name of it is, or even a charged sniper rifle. This was due to 3 complex light damage mods giving me enough damage to take people out with 2 headshots or a headshot and body shot.
PRESENT = I can no longer kill anyone... literally. I swear, EVERYBODY I shoot (charged, regular, whatever) either has those 100% damage reduction mods that cost 0 CPU & 0 PG (the ones where you see 90% or 175% efficiency, which I'm sure is not a chance-to-hit calculation, and blue sparks as you shoot people in the face... again literally but nothing happens yet they know they've been shot enough to start playing hop-scotch across the map)
FUTURE = ??? Dunno if snipers are being phased out or what, but hopefully we can get at least a LITTLE bit of damage capability cause coooooooooooot D@MN this is ridiculous. I spend more time laughing at people surviving from me shooting them and looking at their HP left.
All I'm experiencing is:
Shield = 0, Armor = 0 - but... yet still running around shooting? Oh, "Hi ghost"... Didn't I kill you this morning? Wait, you got a gun? wtf.. Shield = 0, Armor = 1 - come on, wtf... Shield = 0, Armor = 2 - ... Shield = 0, Armor = 5 - Story of my life.. Shield = 0, Armor = 15 - Don't even care anymore... I'm used to it. Shield = 0, Armor = 25 - LMAO, trolled by the NERF !!! Shield = 0, Armor = 35 - Sure as hell missing those 10% damage modifiers...
I literally ONLY teched up to Complex light damage mods for sniping purposes to be able to actually kill people and skipped the 5% ones. Now the mods have gone from 2/3/5/10 to 2/3/4/5 = which is useless. I could see the nerf in aspects of regular guns, but snipers should not get that penalty. Damn near everybody on the game has 1000 HP or better, and 2 headshots isn't even killing half of them? ROFLMAO.
In order for a Sniper to kill you, you basically have to be holding a sign saying I want to die and will ALLOW you to kill me, in which case the sign would be a starter fit or the lightest suit with no armor. (basically the starter scout, frontline, medic suits are the ONLY ones you can just kill now)

^^ For those that missed what I meant, I was sarcastically referring to shooting people in the head and doing 0 damage when I know they were hit, thus saying a 100% damage reduction mod.
@Garrett, that explanation about hit-detection actually explains a lot. I generally land many hits (that actually count) but lately I've been experiencing ridiculous lag where people moonwalk a few seconds, or the game just jumps 10 secs into the future on what would have been, etc. The way I was doing when I was getting as much as 19 kills in a game (back when sniping *worked*) was I'd lead my shots with a ratio of 1 pixel per 200m. So to shoot someone at 600m I'd generally lead them by 3 pixels and when I pull the trigger it generally hit. Either that or I'd guesstimate where they might be in that 3 seconds and just aim there then shoot a second before they get there. My main weapon was the NT-511 I think it was. Whichever was the ADV 100 RPM sniper rifle. I think it did like 186 damage or something. I forget exactly, but for the price difference between that and the PRO ones, it was a huge save on cost + did only slightly less damage.
